Day 61

I got 13 popsicle sticks today! It's my new record - and once I get one more, I'll officially have doubled my ROM from the first day of physical therapy. However, I have a wretched headache today that just won't go away. With the years of taking ibuprofen and sodium naproxen and tylenol and muscle relaxants and other random painkillers for my jaw/headaches, I am really trying to detox and not take anything. I'll take something if it gets too bad (it's not a migraine), but I'd really rather not. These funny pictures are my physical therapy exercises - I look so funny :)

That's about it - I am less swollen today, so below are current pictures. Now that I'm getting more feeling/ control over my lips, here's a picture of my occlusion - beautiful, eh? You can also see the little 'bite pillows' on my lower front two teeth. These have really improved my quality of life. My teeth still haven't recovered from that damned mouthwash right after surgery - but they are slowly getting less brown. Once these braces are off my teeth I'm going straight to the dentist to get them bleached :)

I know what you mean about that mouth wash. Nothing but a cleaning or bleaching can get that stuff out! I also know what you mean about wheaning off the meds. Especially where you are starting work soon. I start work tomorrow and I had to whean of the meds...it was hard. I am still taking motrin though, and I am going to ask for a muscle relaxer tomorrow. It's hard.
You are looking so good! I freakin love that hair style! You are looking so good! You dont even look swollen to me, but then again I don't know you. But at least you look normal to strangers. Your lucky to be getting three more weeks off. Enjoy it! And take care of yourself

You are looking fabulous, my dear! The hair really suits you. I see now why people might not recognize you with the sunglasses on.

But you look great!

Steph I agree - you are looking HOT and think the new hair suits you even more than the old hair!!!

Sorry to hear about the headaches but hang in there - quite often that type get worse (bizarrely) when you take pain relief long-term, so stick it out if you can but don't torture yourself.

As for the teeth... I was worried about mine but after a good clean post-debracing they actually look pretty good...

can I say again that I loveee your hair and profile and new bite. you seriously look great.

I, too, cannot wait to get my teeth bleached. mine are so grungy from the lack of brushing, mouthwash, etc. right after surgery... ick.

Way to go! Keep pushing yourself! The way I do it is if I can hold the stack for more than 20 seconds and NOT think about how painful it is, then it's time to step up one more stick. Looking great!

Hey Steph, lookin' good! :)

How is the numbness? Are there certain spots that are still being affected?

You look great! I have been reading your blog as I am having lower jaw surgery and genioplasty on the Sept. 22nd. I've seen a couple people talk about the zip and squeeze bags and noticed they had problems with the company? Did you use them? Thank you so much for taking the time to blog! I am starting a blog know too. You have answered a lot of questions and so have your fellow bloggers. Hope you are doing well this week!
