My bite is shifting like crazy. I'm telling myself not to panic. I noticed it a few days ago - maybe Thursday after my surgeon appointment. I noticed that I was REALLY biting down on my bottom braces with my front teeth and that my back teeth were open again - like they were a few weeks ago prior to getting the side rubber bands. It's just getting worse and worse.
It hurts quite a bit now. I'll call my orthodontist on Monday morning to get an appointment, but the feeling is coming into my upper teeth as well as my lower teeth now, so it's hardcore uncomfortable at all times, and hurts when my jaw goes to rest now.
Jaw exercises are going well, despite being terribly painful. I could only fit 7 huge popsicle sticks in my mouth on Thursday, and I'm already easily up to 10 as of tonight.

That sounds more like a bad camp game rather than a PT exercise. "Alright kids, for our next game, how many popsicle sticks can you fit in your mouth? Watch out for splinters!"
Oo and you can say "Woody Woodchuck" instead of "Chubby Bunny!"
Stephanie, nope. Not allowed to take the rubberbands off. Ever. Still blending everything into oblivion and drinking my meals. So other than my surgeon shoving his fingers in my mouth, I haven;t been given any PT. One week from Monday though and I can start moving again thank god.
I remember when I had braces and bands- while they weren't as extensive as yours- my top teeth rested on my bottom brackets too- it's the natural position of the jaw... let me know what the ortho says, because I'm uber curious now!
PS- what time is your appt on the 26th? They cut back our OT availability, so I should have no problems meeting you at the salon!
Hey Steph, guess who's back???
Sorry, I haven't been on in a long time...I need to catch up on your progress, but I am EXTREMELY happy to see you make it to the other side! I just updated my blog...with good news.
Oh, popsicle STICKS, STICKS. :) I was reading too fast and read 7 huge popsicles up to 10...and was SOO amazed. :)
