good news!

It looks like I'm getting my braces off on APRIL 28TH! I have my next appt. on April 14th, and if it looks good they'll cut my wires and I'll come back on April 28th. If everything is still looking good, I get my braces off and then come back in the afternoon for my retainer.

My bite looks amazing. I'm still in rubberbands, but they're relaxed. My teeth look amazing. AMAZING!!

I asked about retaining my BITE after surgery (I'm not worried about the teeth, as I'll be good about wearing my retainers). Apparently I'll be getting a splint to wear after braces, as well, to help retain my bite.

Congrats! That's really, really exciting news.

Just found your blog. I'm 13 days out from my Lefort I, and the more I can read about jaw surgery patients, the better I feel.

I also have a blog about food you can eat during jaw surgery. If you'd like, please stop by and comment on what you liked to eat during surgery.

Congrats! I'm still in the Essex retainer that is a plastic mold that covers all of your teeth and my bite seems to be getting worse. I'm hoping when I get the Hawley retainers next week, the roof of your mouth pink thingy, it gets better. That's supposed to let your molars come back down and settle in. My front teeth are starting to hit hard again.

Good luck! Getting them off is no big deal, except the sewer smell from all the gunk trapped under your bands. I almost puked when they pulled those out.

I'm so jealous!! My orthodontist hasn't given any specific dates of removal yet. I go in on March 2nd, so I have my fingers crossed for at least an estimated date?!?!
